Mission Statement

Audio Forensics is the appellation for the engineering discipline involving the analysis, evaluation and presentation of acoustic evidence in a judicial inquiry normally leading towards a presentation in court.

Independent of the legal system and independent of the country the problems with acoustic evidence encountered by engineers are the same.

The primary task for the new technical committee for Audio Forensics is to ensure a continued exchange of knowledge and experience across the boarders.

A collaboration with the Standard Committee for Audio Forensics should also be of priority, thus improving the working conditions for the engineers by providing them with guidelines and reference standards.
