The Technical Committee on Signal Processing exists to fulfill the Mission of the Audio Engineering Society Technical Committees in areas related to signal processing.

The Committee strives to be aware of any issues related to signal processing that are or will be vital to the activities of the AES, and to make them known to the membership by all means available.

The Committee serves the needs of all AES members through education and information. It does this by participating in conferences and conventions, holding workshops, and publishing information about signal processing as it relates to audio. The committee members, possessing expertise in the field, monitor advances in signal processing technology and applications and present the information themselves, arrange for its presentation by other experts, assist the papers chairs or convention and conference chairs in the determination of appropriate sessions or other demonstrations of the technology, and/or make recommendations to the Standards Committees for further exploration. In addition, the Committee serves to recognize and acknowledge items of historical significance in the field of signal processing.
