AES14-R: Review of AES14-1992 (r2003): AES standard for professional audio equipment - Application of connectors, part 1, XLR-type polarity and gender

Project scope: This standard shall apply to three- and five-pin circular connectors, commonly and generically known as XLRtype, used for the interconnection of all categories of sound system components for professional audio, commercial, recording, broadcast, and similar applications, regardless of function, type, or level of the signal. It specifies the application and polarity of analog signals for these connectors. This standard does not pertain to the dimensions of the connectors.

AES-X113: Universal female phone jack

Project scope: to specify a jack socket designed to accept plugs of the two commonest 6.35 mm 3-contact kinds (IEC60603-11 and B-gauge) as described in AES-R3.

AES-X123 : XL Connectors to Improve Electromagnetic Compatibility

Project scope: to specify new connectors with improved termination of shields at radio frequencies, improved connections of their shells with mating connectors, and low-pass filtering to minimize the transmission of radio frequency signals.
